NESTED IN RIGHT ANGLES

Meticulously transformed into an evocative object through the unexpected application of domestic and industrial textiles, this found object invites comfort and play. Upholstered on its exterior with panels of hand-tufted carpeting, and featuring a quilted canvas interior adorned with two rows of vibrant orange stitching, this chair imbues each material with new meaning and purpose, ultimately reimagining its role in our everyday lives. In the process of adorning the chair's frame, I discovered a striking parallel between the act of covering a piece of furniture and the act of dressing the human body. By merging the worlds of fashion and furniture, I aimed to challenge preconceived notions of what constitutes art and elevate the ordinary, finding space between art and utility.
