BIOMORPHIC ILLUSTRATED COLLECTION

This collection is inspired by the formal qualities of artist Hans Peter Wilhelm Arp (Jean Arp). His biomorphic sculptures contributed to Dada and Surrealist movements from the 1930-1960's. His work expresses how the natural world is governed by both logic and chaos. Through his sculptures, figures are captured in a state of growth and evolution. This collection utilizes Arp's forms as vessels; they provide a safe haven for the body to rest in expression. With refined color and fabric choices, these sculptural looks highlight the composition of the body, amplifying and contorting the human figure to represent the dualities of expression.

Materials: black foam, neoprene, rib knit, ponté knit, power mesh knit fabric.
